COMMENTARY ON THE INDIGENOUS COACHING AND NIGERIAN FOOTBALL FEDERATION WRITTEN BY TUNJI OGUGBADE

It no more news that Nigerian football Federation (NFF) has decided not has home base coaches: for the country’s National Team, according to reporter the decision by the football analyst was probably taken as a result of sudden exit of coach Sunday Olise . But the fact remain that Olise is not the first local coach to either leave or sent away simultaneously from the super Eagle’s handler.

The questions that already come to the mind are why is it that it is always difficult for the local coach to succeed as eagle’s handlers? It is because they are not well equipped to handle national teams. They do not test and trusted by the technical department of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) before they were hired. It is a fact that the issue of ceremoniously departure suddenly not peculiar to the local coaches alone. For instance: Baramerit Norich abandoned the Super Eagles without informing his employers after the team lost in Denmark at the France 98 World Cup. Lass Logaback did the same thing at the South Africa during 2010 World Cup, this is why one wonders why it s always difficult for the Nigerian Football Federation to manage hire coaches successfully? Although, no coach will accept failure easily without excuses that are not at times tenable. But the NFF still holds the teaming soccer fine explanation why not recording success whenever a local coach is hired to handle the super eagles.

On the other hand, investigations revealed that the home based coaches often rejected the input from the technical department of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), which can assist in diamond their Job. Hiring of indigenous coaches should not be politicized; the reason is to give in to such coaches to operate in a conducive atmosphere, apart from the advance reasons. This is the right time for the Nigerian Football Federation NFF to let go some see football as a strong way of indication in the country to know that there is football and local coaches can be managed successfully despite the abundant talent in football home and abroad. Local coaches on the hand, should always try to refresh their coaches in their experiences, they should always consider the certificate of diplomacy which they obtained in coaching 30years ago. And no more relevance in this modern day scientific coaching and foot balling.
