Nigerian women senior
football team “The Super Falcons” has booked their place in African Women championship
in Cameroon. The Nigerian women on Tuesday
evening 12th of April at the Abuja National Stadium put up hard
fight to beat their Senegalese female counterpart 2-0. Richard Chukwuelue and Osara
Noah Igbunobia was on target to give Nigeria the deserved victory. The
Super Falcon just qualified on a 3 – 1 aggregate after posting one of draw in
their card last week in the first leg.
National President of Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) Chris Giwa said his board is not in any
way threatened in his board by the FIFA letter circulating everywhere in the
media to band Nigeria in the international
competition. Giwa while addressing
reporters earlier Tuesday 12th
April, 2016 in Abuja said his board violating neither the NFF nor the FIFA
status, he further added that his board was a right track and has not done
anything illegal.
Meanwhile former chairman house of representative committee
on sports Godfrey Gaya has called on
the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to do all he can, to do away with the
entire setback currently rocking the football house. Gaya was speaking on the recent threat by world football Guarding
Body FIFA to sanction Nigeria from international competition following the removal
of Amaji by a Jos Federal High Court as President of Nigeria
Football Federation.
Chris Giwa last
week assumed the leadership of NFF on the strength of the verdict in his favor
given by Jos Federal High Court In Plateau State. The extra Ordinary Congress
of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)
has ruled that Nigeria Premier League
Club Owners Chris Giwa would Face the disciplinary Committee.
